The Ocean Race Europe will kick off on September 9, 2025, from Kiel, Germany. In this event, seven yachts of the IMOCA class will compete over a distance of 4500 nautical miles. This regatta will take place over several stages, including stops in such places as Portsmouth, Porto, Cartagena, Nice, and Genoa, finishing in Boca-Bay, Montenegro.
Each team consists of five members, including at least one woman and a media representative. Among the participants are teams from six countries, including Germany, Switzerland, France, Canada, Italy, and Saudi Arabia.
The competition promises to be exciting, as at each stage participants will be able to earn points, including for the intermediate "scoring-gate," which will add intrigue to the overall standings. Famous sailor Loïck Peyron believes that the competition with stages ensures more excitement and unpredictability.
It is expected that the new participant Ambroggio Beccaria, who leads the Allagrande Mapei Racing team, will demonstrate his skills on the IMOCA 60, preparing to participate in the Vendée Globe 2028.
