The match featured several newcomers, including Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, who joined the team from Chelsea for 35 million dollars. He became a prominent figure on the field, actively interacting with the new forward Thierno Barry, who also made his debut in this match.

The match started with bright moments, as Barry created several promising attacks, but unfortunately could not score. In the second half, Matías Soulé from Roma opened the scoring, which decided the outcome of the match.
