This was reported by L'Équipe, L'Équipe.
Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) signed goalkeeper Lucas Chevalier from Lille on a five-year contract. This transfer reflects the growing uncertainty regarding the future of Gianluigi Donnarumma in the club.
Although the transfer fee has not been disclosed, the French sports newspaper L'Équipe reported that PSG paid around 40 million euros (46.5 million dollars) for the 23-year-old Chevalier, with the possibility of rising to 55 million euros depending on bonus achievements.
Chevalier impressed during his time at Lille last season, notably showing outstanding performances against Real Madrid, Atlético, and Juventus, where he made a stunning save against Dušan Vlahović.
According to experts, Chevalier's arrival may indicate a potential departure of Donnarumma, who is considered one of the best goalkeepers in Europe. Donnarumma currently has a year left on his contract and has not yet signed a new deal, which could lead to his exit from the club.
PSG also has three reserve goalkeepers: Mathieu Safonov, Arnaud Tenas, and 19-year-old Renato Martin. With such a number of goalkeepers in the club, it is likely that one of them will be released during the summer transfer window.
PSG will start its season in the league on September 17 against Nantes.
