A Man from Iowa Killed After Being Shot and Burning Down a Building

• Dennis Bernell was killed from gunshot wounds.

In the city of Glenwood, Iowa, 71-year-old Dennis Bernell died from gunshot wounds after he shot two neighbors and burned down his building. The incident occurred in the middle of the evening, and Bernell died in the hospital.

According to investigators, Bernell shot 38-year-old Brendon Oman and his 35-year-old girlfriend Stevie Oman during the argument. The couple survived the attack. They have a child, who witnesses their injuries.

Witnesses reported the shooting to police before the building Bernell was in caught fire. When law enforcement arrived at the scene, the building was already engulfed in flames.

Police had previously received calls about Bernell due to conflicts with his neighbors. Together with court documents, in September of last year, Bernell was found guilty in the third degree of damages to another neighbor and fined over 100 dollars.
