President of the USA Donald Trump announced the nomination of Tami Bruce, a former State Department official, for the position of Deputy Representative of the USA in the Organization of United Nations. Trump made this announcement on the Truth Social platform, where he described Bruce as "a great patriot, a television personality, and a bestselling author."
Bruce, who has been working in the Department of State since the beginning of the year, was previously a commentator on Fox News for over 20 years. In her activities, she has criticized liberals and authored books, such as "The Fear of Self: Exposing the Plan of the Left to Destroy Reason."
As a statement, Bruce defended the US foreign policy decisions, including immigration reforms and support for Gaza involving private military contractors. Her nomination must be confirmed by the Senate, but it is currently unknown when this will take place.
At the moment, the acting US Ambassador to the UN is Doreen Shea, a career diplomat who has held the position of Deputy Ambassador since 2024.
