Jerelo: Evening address by Zelensky on September 9.
Zelensky pointed out that the actions of Russian President Volodymyr Putin indicate his intention to legalize the occupation of Ukrainian territories. He noted that any concessions could lead to further aggression from Russia.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sibiga also called on international partners to maintain decisiveness and not to make concessions to the aggressor. He emphasized that strength and unity can compel Russia to stop the war.
According to an analysis by the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the introduction of Ukrainian forces from the Donetsk region could give Russia the opportunity to expand control over its territory and threaten other regions, such as Kharkiv and Dnipro. This underscores the ongoing threat associated with potential territorial concessions.
Zelensky and Sibiga both emphasized the importance of achieving a just peace, which is based on international law and the principles of the UN.
