Increase in the use of kamikaze drones by Russian troops in the south

Russian troops have significantly increased the use of kamikaze drones on the southern front. Over the last 24 hours, nearly 670 such attacks have been recorded, which is more than double the average figure from previous days. This was reported by Vladislav Voloshin, spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces.

Specifically, in the Kherson sector, there were 370 drone attacks, while earlier their number was around 200-250. Thus, the total number of strikes on the southern front increased from 400-450 to more than 670 in one day.

Voloshin noted that the number of enemy engagements in response to the Southern Defense Forces remains relatively low. In the directions of Prydniprovske and Kherson, there were recorded six engagements, mostly aimed at trying to regain control over the island zone in the Dnipro River delta. In Zaporizhzhia direction, particularly near Orekhiv, there were three engagements when the enemy attempted to advance towards Novovandriivka.

In the Huliaipole direction, one attack was recorded near the village of Malynivka, where Russian troops are also actively using aviation for strikes on populated areas located near the line of engagement.

Voloshin also reported that the enemy is regrouping its forces and equipment, creating strong groups in the forward positions for conducting active offensive operations on the most critical days. Artillery and aviation strikes remain intense — over the last 24 hours, 206 artillery strikes have been recorded, while Russian aviation continues to use both guided bombs and unguided rockets.

During the day, there were recorded 160 combat engagements on the front, with the largest battles occurring in Pokrovsk, Novopavlivka, and Lyman directions.
