Shooting at CDC: Man Blamed Vaccine in Depression

A man from Georgia, who was involved in the shooting at the headquarters of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), identified as Patrick Joseph White. He blamed the vaccine against COVID-19 for his depression and suicidal thoughts. As a result of the attack, police officer David Rouse, who responded to the call, was killed.

White, who was 30 years old, attempted to enter the CDC building but was stopped by security. After this, he went to a pharmacy to buy a gun, using a five-shot revolver, including one long barrel.

Officer Rouse, who previously served in the marine corps, was fatally wounded during the incident. White was found dead in another building on the premises where he was killed, but it has not yet been established whether this was a consequence of police action or suicide.

The CDC spokesperson called for urgent action against misinformation about the vaccine, asserting that such information poses a serious threat to public health. They demand a clear position from federal officials to protect scientists from harassment.

White's father stated that his son had experienced the death of his dog and had been under the influence of that vaccine. A neighbor described him as someone who expressed distrust towards vaccines but did not believe he could commit suicide.

As a result of the shooting, several CDC buildings were evacuated. Employees remained in lockdown for several hours while the investigation continued. The CDC director stated that the situation requires a serious assessment of public safety.
