The game started unfavorably for Milan when defender Andrei Coubis scored an own goal in the 5th minute. Just two minutes later, Joao Pedro put Chelsea ahead, scoring after a pass from Pedro Neto. Following this, Coubis received a red card in the 18th minute, which significantly complicated the situation for Milan.

In the second half, Luka Modric appeared on the field, making his debut for Milan. Although he did not manage to make a significant impact on the game, his presence in the center of the field added depth to the team.
