Drone Attack on Oil Refinery in Russia

On August 10, 2025, drones belonging to the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine struck the LUKOIL-Uhta oil refinery in Komi, Russia. This refinery is located more than 2000 km away from the Ukrainian border.
According to information from the source in the Ukrainian intelligence, the attack was part of a special operation. As a result of the strike, a reserve for storing oil products that leaked was destroyed, as well as a gas processing plant where propane-butane and gasoline are produced.
After the explosions, local residents near the refinery reported fires and rapid assistance. There was also information about the disruption of electricity and mobile internet in Uhta. The regional authorities initiated security measures due to the drone flights in the area.
The Ukrainian intelligence confirmed that the attack targeted an object supplying fuel and lubricants to the Russian military.
