The aircraft "previously contacted" the departing aircraft, according to a brief statement from Delta, sent to the Associated Press.
The flight was headed from Atlanta to Guatemala, according to data from FlightAware, a website that tracks changes in flight schedules. Passengers were transferred to another flight due to the delay.
On board the commercial flight were 192 passengers, two pilots, and four flight attendants.
According to Delta's information, no injuries were reported. The airline's main office is located in Atlanta.
