Dean Burmester secured the victory at LIV Golf in Chicago, overcoming a tough start and advancing to the three-team playoff, where he defeated Jon Rahm and Hosung Choi. Burmester's final shot became the first additional putt, when he included it in a six-foot putt.
Initially, Burmester had a lead in two shots, but lost it through three consecutive bogeys. In the subsequent competition, he managed to recover, finishing the round with a par 71 on a total score of 9 under par.
After he missed a putt on the 16th, Burmester again moved ahead, but Rahm and Choi also missed on the 18th, which led to the playoff. In the playoff on the 18th hole, the superstars failed to realize their chances on a putt from 12 feet.
Burmester received 4 million dollars for his second victory at LIV Golf, having previously won in Miami last year. In addition, Burmester's team "Stinger" won the team title, defeating "Torque".
