President Donald Trump stated that homeless individuals should leave Washington, D.C. "immediately" to make the city "more beautiful." This announcement was made by Trump on the social media platform Truth Social while he was driving to his golf club in Virginia.

In his post, he asserted that "we are providing you a place to live, but far from the city." Trump also promised that life in the West regarding crime reduction in Washington would take place at a press conference scheduled for Monday, September 12.

Regardless of his statement about increasing crime rates, statistics show that violent crime in Washington has reached a 30-year low. D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser confirmed that the crime rate in the city is decreasing and stated that the situation is not critical.

Trump also expressed his intention to improve the exterior appearance of the city, although it is unclear what specific actions he plans to take. Meanwhile, he emphasized that homeless individuals must leave the area, and that their situation requires urgent resolution.

Mayor Bowser noted that there are no epidemics of homelessness in the city, although at the moment about 800 people are living on the streets of a population of 700,000. Earlier, Trump promised to deploy federal officers to combat crime, regardless of the fact that statistics demonstrate a decrease in violent crime.

The Democratic Party and activists advocating for homeless rights have already planned a protest to express disagreement with the president's plans. The issue of control over the city remains relevant, as Trump discusses the possibility of federal control over Washington.
