17-year-old Olympic champion Hezly Rivera won the US gymnastics championship, which took place in New Orleans on August 10, 2025. With a total score of 112.000, she outperformed Lian Wong, who finished in second place with a score of 111.200. This victory marked Rivera's first national championship, despite the challenges she faced in overcoming this year.

Rivera, who was part of the US team that won gold at the 2024 Olympics, earlier this year had issues with consistency, finishing 12th in the classic tournament in the US. However, at the championship in New Orleans, she showcased a complete routine, winning gold on uneven bars, bars, and on the floor, while Wong became the best on the beam.

In the final round, Rivera and Wong had a fierce battle, but Rivera managed to maintain the lead, scoring the highest on the floor, which allowed her to secure the championship. Third place went to Joslyn Roberson, who also delivered a strong performance, despite the difficulties on the beam.
