Crystal Palace Club Plans to Sell Mark Guehi
- Crystal Palace is planning to sell Mark Guehi in order to avoid losses.
- The player has interest from Liverpool and Newcastle.
- They are awaiting a decision regarding the appeal for a reduction to the Conference League.
The Crystal Palace club is exploring the possibility of selling their captain Mark Guehi in this transfer window. This is related to the fact that the player's contract expires in a year, and the club does not want to incur losses next summer.
Guehi, who signed a contract with Crystal Palace in 2021, has significant interest from Premier League teams, including Liverpool and Newcastle. Liverpool, which played against Crystal Palace in the FA Community Shield match, is also considering the possibility of signing the player, but for now, they are not ready to meet the £40 million asking price.
Club chairman Steve Parish confirmed that the club is looking to sell Guehi for a favorable offer, as expenses for maintaining the team are increasing. He emphasized that it is not possible to allow players to leave the club for free, as happened with Joachim Andersen last year.
In addition, Crystal Palace is awaiting a decision from the Sports Arbitration Court regarding their appeal for a reduction to the Conference League. The decision is expected on Monday, and the club hopes to return to European competitions.
Parish also stressed that the club needs to refresh the squad in order to have a chance to compete successfully in four tournaments this season.
