Invitation of Zelensky to meet Trump and Putin will be the best decision
- The invitation of Zelensky to meet Trump and Putin is being discussed
- Poland is ready to support a peacekeeping mission in Ukraine
- The achievement of an agreement on a ceasefire has become closer
This is reported by Ukrayinska Pravda, Ukrinform.
Deputy Prime Minister of Poland and Minister of National Defense, Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, believes that the invitation of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky to meet with U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin will be "the best decision" in these difficult circumstances.
Kosiniak-Kamysz noted that there is information about the possibility of Zelensky's participation in this meeting, which is scheduled for August 15 in Alaska. He expressed confidence that this will indeed take place and that the goal of the Western world, represented by the USA, focuses on achieving a just and lasting peace.
He also emphasized that Poland is ready to do everything possible to achieve such peace. In his opinion, the achievement of an agreement on a ceasefire with the participation of Zelensky has become closer than ever. If this takes place on August 15, on the anniversary of the victory over the Bolsheviks in the Battle of Warsaw in 1920, it will be "the best gift" for this region.
Kosiniak-Kamysz also stated that Poland is ready to support a possible peacekeeping mission in Ukraine, providing logistical and infrastructural assistance, while Polish troops will remain on the territory of Poland.
On the eve of the meeting between Trump and Putin, Zelensky's rejection indicates that Russia is not inclined to stop its aggression, but rather seeks ways to destroy Ukraine.
