Newcastle has finalized an agreement with Milan for the transfer of German defender Malick Tiav for £35 million sterling. The 24-year-old footballer arrived in the North East of England on Sunday evening and underwent a medical examination on Monday.

Tiav, who joined Milan from Schalke in September 2022, has made 85 appearances for the club. He expressed satisfaction with the move to Newcastle, stating: "I am ready for the Premier League."

Despite the arrival of Tiav, Newcastle turned down interest in defender Kristal Pelas Mark Guéhi. The team is also actively searching for a forward, especially given the situation with Aleksandr Isak, who is likely to move to Liverpool, remains uncertain.

Newcastle plans to finalize a deal with forward Brentford's Joao Vissou this week, and has also made an inquiry regarding the possibility of signing Porto forward Sam Aghekov.

Newcastle begins the new Premier League season with a match against Aston Villa on Saturday, having not won any games in the pre-season matches.
