- Aliyev allocated 2 million dollars to Ukraine as humanitarian aid.
- Zelensky and Aliyev discussed Russian strikes on energy facilities.
- Funds will be used to purchase electrical equipment for Ukraine.
This was reported by Ukrayinska Pravda, Meduza.
The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev signed a decree for the allocation of 2 million dollars to the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine. This decision was a response to the recent Russian strikes on energy infrastructure, including the oil facilities of SOCAR in the Odessa region.
During a phone conversation with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, Aliyev and Zelensky condemned the Russian strikes on facilities belonging to the Azerbaijani company, as well as on the gas compressor station that supplies gas from Azerbaijan to Ukraine. Aliyev expressed the conviction that these attacks do not stop energy cooperation between the states.
The allocated funds will be used for the purchase and transportation of electrical equipment from Azerbaijani manufacturers as humanitarian aid to Ukraine. The Ministry of Finance of Ukraine must ensure financing, and the Cabinet of Ministers will resolve all related issues.
It is noted that on August 5-6, 2025, Russia attacked the gas compressor station in the Odessa region, which ensures the transit of gas from Azerbaijan to Europe. Additionally, on August 7-8, Russian drones inflicted strikes on the SOCAR oil facilities, which led to a fire.
