- This is already the fifth newcomer for Everton this summer.
Jack Grealish will undergo medical examinations at Everton today after the club from Merseyside agreed on the loan terms with Manchester City. Negotiations regarding the transfer of the 29-year-old winger began on August 6, when it became known that Everton was interested in his services. Grealish's contract with Manchester City will expire in 2027.
In the past season, Grealish played only 16 matches in all tournaments, of which only seven in the Premier League. He did not participate in the City squad for the final match of the season against Fulham, and he was also not included in the team that traveled to the USA for the club's world championship. Coach Pep Guardiola often preferred other players, such as Phil Foden and Bernardo Silva.
Grealish joined Manchester City from Aston Villa for a record sum for British players of 100 million pounds sterling in September 2021. During this time, he played 157 matches, scored 17 goals, and provided 23 assists. The midfielder won three titles: Premier League, League Cup, and FA Cup, and was also an important part of the team during the period of achieving the treble title in the 2022-23 season.
Everton also signed four new players this summer, including T'yeorn Barri, Mark Travers, Adam Aznu, and Kieran D'yusberii-Holl. The player who will return to the team after the loan is Carlos Alcaraz.
