Successfully returned 14-year-old girl from occupied territories

  • Anna, a 14-year-old girl, was returned from the occupied territories.
  • The girl survived the pressure from the Russian authorities.
  • The rescue operation lasted more than ten months.

This is reported by Ukrayinska Pravda, Ukrinform.

A 14-year-old girl, who was planned to be sent to a Russian orphanage, has been successfully returned to the territory of Ukraine. The girl, named Anna, was left without a father who died at the front when their village was occupied.

According to information received from Bring Kids Back UA, a Ukrainian non-governmental organization, the girl lived with her grandmother and older sister in southern Ukraine. After the beginning of the full-scale war, Anna became the object of pressure from the Russian occupiers, who threatened her and her relatives.

For almost ten months, there was an operation to rescue the girl. In July 2025, it became known that Anna was to be transferred to a Russian orphanage, and it was also necessary to act urgently. During one operation, it was possible to organize documents and a safe route for her exit.

During the journey, Anna experienced the fear of being caught, but eventually managed to reunite with her grandmother in the territory controlled by Ukraine. Now the girl dreams of returning to her native village and meeting with relatives who stayed there.

At the beginning of August, it was also reported about the return of another group of children from the occupied territories.
