Zelensky Increases Funding for Combat Units

• Zelensky announced an increase in funding for combat brigades.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky during a meeting of the Staff of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief on August 11, 2025, announced a significant increase in funding for combat units. Each brigade will receive 7 million hryvnias per battalion, which will participate in combat operations.

"I have given instructions to significantly increase funding for combat units so that brigades can effectively receive more opportunities. The updated rules are as follows: 7 million hryvnias per brigade, which indicates an increase in funding by tens of millions of hryvnias," Zelensky noted in his Telegram.

In addition, the president announced a decision that allows combat brigades to purchase pickups, quad bikes, and other equipment with direct funding. "This will work just like cash, allocated to brigades for the purchase of off-road vehicles. We allow the purchase not only of new pickups but also of used ones. This is exactly what was requested in each brigade. Next week, the government will formalize the decision in documents so that this opportunity becomes available already in September," he added.

Zelensky also emphasized the need to simplify and digitalize the procedures for the registration of property. "Another important issue is the procedure for awards. Unfortunately, the time between the nomination for an award and its actual presentation can take several months or even longer. I have given instructions to shorten the procedures, reduce the bureaucratic burden, and simplify the processes," he noted.

The president stressed that the Ministry of Defense has developed proposals regarding the acceleration of procedures that will be implemented as soon as possible. Defense Minister Denys Shmyhal will present all the details.
