European leaders to meet with Trump and Zelensky
- Negotiations with Trump and Zelensky will take place on September 13.
- They will discuss pressure on Russia and possible peace agreements.
- The Ukrainian ambassador sharply reacted to the calls for territorial concessions.
This is reported by Ukrayinska Pravda, Interfax Ukraine, RBC Ukraine.
On September 13, negotiations will take place between German Chancellor Friedrich Merz, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, and President of the USA Donald Trump. This discussion will focus on the situation regarding the ongoing war in Ukraine, as well as possible peace negotiations.
Along with the announcements, Merz plans to discuss options for pressure on Russia and the issue of territorial pretensions and security guarantees. This meeting will be significant ahead of Trump's scheduled meeting with Russian leader Vladimir Putin, which will take place on September 15 in Almaty.
Against the backdrop of these events, the co-chair of the German far-right party Tino Chrupalla suggested that Ukraine should partially concede its territory to Russia, which provoked a strong reaction from the Ukrainian ambassador in Germany, Oleksiy Makeiev. He noted that such statements are "doctrines of extremist rights" and called for not conceding any territory.
Negotiations between European leaders and Trump could influence further actions regarding conflict regulation and ensuring stability in the region.
