Atlético Madrid confirmed the signing of the Italian forward Giacomo Raspadori from Napoli in a press release. The operation amounted to 22 million euros plus 4 million euros in bonuses.

Raspadori signed a five-year contract and became the seventh new player of the team this summer. In the previous season, he scored six goals in 26 matches of Serie A for Napoli, which became the champion.

In his career, Giacomo Raspadori also played for Sassuolo, before moving to Napoli in 2022. Over three seasons at Napoli, he played 109 matches, scored 18 goals, and provided 10 assists.

Atlético Madrid, led by Diego Simeone, aims to improve their results after finishing third in La Liga and failing to progress in the Champions League and the Copa del Rey last season.

The club is actively working in the transfer market, having invested 175 million euros, and ranks fifth among the biggest spenders in Europe.
