Coach Deon Sanders forms a new team in Colorado
- Deon Sanders is forming a new team ahead of the season
- Kayden Salter and Julian Lewis are competing for the quarterback position
- Improving the game on the field is a priority for the team
In Colorado, coach Deon Sanders continues to build the team ahead of the start of the new season. He is considering two options for the quarterback position: Julian "JuJu" Lewis, a 17-year-old promising quarterback, and Kayden Salter, a transfer from Liberty, who has experience.
Sanders has not ruled out the possibility of starting a quarterback, and this could remain a mystery until the beginning of the season on September 29, when Colorado plays against Georgia Tech. Regardless of the selection, the team is looking for a change in offense, as last year's starters Shedeur Sanders and Travis Hunter transitioned to the NFL.
Salter and Lewis, despite the competition, maintain friendly relations. They often share about life, which helps them create a positive atmosphere in the team. Rayan Staub, a reserve quarterback, also plays an important role in the development of young players.
Both quarterbacks will receive support from experienced coaches like Pat Shermer and Byron Leftwich, who help them improve their skills. Salter, according to the coach's words, has unique abilities, while Lewis is a five-star recruit who, over three years in high school, amassed 11,010 yards.
Changes also apply to the defense, as the team aims to improve its game on the field, which last year was the largest in the division, averaging 65.2 yards per game. Marshall Falk, a Hall of Fame member, joined the coaching staff to improve this situation.
Preparation for the season is ongoing, and coach Sanders is fully immersed in his team, believing that regardless of the choice of quarterback, the team has the potential to achieve success.
