Khamzat Chimaev, a fighter of mixed martial arts, is getting ready for his upcoming fight against Dricus Du Plessis, which will take place on August 16 at UFC 319. Chimaev has a record of 14-0, with eight knockouts and six submissions. His last victory over Roberto Vittori was decisive for obtaining a chance for the title in the middleweight division.
Chimaev, who began his career in the UFC in 2020, faced many difficulties, including health and weight problems. He started fighting in the welterweight division, but due to these difficulties, he moved to the middleweight.
According to experts, Chimaev could become the next UFC champion if he showcases his talent in the scheduled fight. However, his career has been marred by suspensions related to visa issues, which he noted were resolved with the help of Donald Trump.
Chimaev also confirmed that his ties with Ramzan Kadyrov, the leader of Chechnya, hindered him from obtaining a visa for fights in the USA, but now he plans to be more active in competitions.
