Use of Drones for Evacuating the Wounded on the Frontline

The commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky, noted that through the active use of drones, the evacuation of the wounded from the battlefield has become more complicated. This issue was discussed at a recent meeting of the military medicine council and medical support of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

At the council, the participants included commanders of medical forces, as well as leaders of medical services of military formations, who provided updates on the state of medical units and the implementation of new formations. One of the possible solutions is the introduction of new technical approaches, including the use of unmanned systems and robotic complexes (UAVs).

Representatives of the 25th separate air assault brigade shared positive experiences of using UAVs for evacuating the wounded from the front lines. Syrsky emphasized the need to scale such solutions, enhance the medical support of military units with armored and evacuation equipment, as well as establish new logistical and organizational approaches.

The main objective of these initiatives is to ensure the safety and health of Ukrainian defenders who are holding the front line.
