- Stafford may have the opportunity to play in the regular season.
On Monday, quarterback Los Angeles Rams Matthew Stafford, who was expected to train, is unable to participate in activities due to a registered spinal injury. The 37-year-old quarterback remains a spectator, as he felt discomfort.
The head coach of the team, Sean McVay, noted that Stafford went through training on Saturday, where he completed nearly 70 throws, but on Monday his condition did not allow him to train. "We always discuss the nuances in plans. I want him to feel good, but today he was not ready," McVay said.
The trainer emphasized that if this were a regular season, Stafford could be playing. However, the team decided to act cautiously to avoid further complications. Stafford, who is starting his 17th season in the NFL, has not been able to train with the team since the spring due to issues with his spine.
McVay did not provide clear timelines for Stafford's return, but mentioned that his condition is evaluated daily. He also expressed hope that Stafford will be able to participate during the opening of the season against the Houston Texans on September 7.
