Uvalde, Texas – August 11, 2025. Officials from the Uvalde school district released documents related to the mass shooting at Robb Elementary School, which occurred on May 24, 2022. Following a three-year legal battle, resulting in media organizations filing lawsuits, text messages, work files, and student records related to the shooting were released.

The documents consist of electronic letters between the leaders of the school district and reports from police that were on-site during the incident. It was also revealed that the former head of the Uvalde school police department, Pete Arredondo, who was on-site during the incident.

In the mass shooting, 19 children and two teachers were killed. The police did not stop the shooter for 77 minutes after he entered the school, which sparked criticism regarding the police's delayed response. According to the investigation data, nearly 400 officers waited on orders, not attempting to rescue the children who remained inside the classroom.

Two officers from the school district are accused of crimes related to their actions during the shooting. Arredondo and former officer Adrian Gonzalez are being accused of endangering children and leaving them without supervision. They both deny their wrongdoing and are expected to have a court hearing scheduled for this year.
