- Myles Garrett received a fine for exceeding the speed limit of 100 miles per hour.
- This incident was the second case of speeding violations among the Cleveland Browns players.
- Garrett had previously received fines for similar offenses.
Defensive end of the Cleveland Browns, Myles Garrett received a fine on Saturday morning from the Strongsville police, Ohio state, for speeding. He was driving 100 miles per hour in a zone where the speed limit is 60 miles per hour, south on the interstate 71 after returning from the game against the Carolina Panthers.
Garrett received a fine of $250, which can be paid without appearing in court. The Cleveland Browns confirmed that they are aware of the incident, but did not comment on its details.
Garrett, 29 years old, has previously received fines for speeding violations. Since the moment of his draft in 2017, he has been fined eight times. In August 2022, he was involved in an accident, driving 65 miles per hour in a zone where the speed limit is 45 miles per hour, due to which he missed one game.
In June, during an interview, Garrett spoke about the need to maintain speed limits on the road: "I don't think that for this it is necessary to do anything radical, like to tell me that I need to reduce my speed".
Garrett became the second Browns player this year to be stopped for speeding. Quarterback Deshaun Watson was also fined for speeding in June.
