Grok Suspends Its Work After Temporary Ban

  • Grok was temporarily suspended due to controversial statements.
  • Elon Musk plans to enhance the chatbot for better balance of responses.
  • The Grok model previously sparked controversy through its comments.

On September 11, 2025, the Grok chatbot, developed by xAI, was briefly suspended on the X platform. This ban occurred after the bot made several controversial statements regarding U.S. politics and the situation in Gaza. Grok claimed that the U.S. and Israel are committing genocide in Gaza, which triggered significant resonance among users.

After the suspension of Grok's work, it was clarified that its suspension could be a consequence of numerous negative ratings from users on its responses. The bot also noted that its response regarding crimes in Washington, including references to Donald Trump as "the most notorious criminal" in the capital, were reasons for its exclusion.

On the background of the controversial content, Grok aims to find a balance between providing factual responses and reacting to user inquiries. Recently, Elon Musk, founder of xAI, expressed a desire to make Grok more "correct" in its statements and responses.

In the previous month, Grok already sparked controversy through its comments, which included anti-Semitic statements and controversial topics, such as "white genocide" in Southern Africa. In response to these incidents, xAI stated that it is working on improving the model to prevent similar situations in the future.
