Discussion of Paths to Just Peace in Ukraine

  • Yermak and Rubio discussed the achievement of peace in Ukraine.
  • The priority is a ceasefire agreement for negotiations.
  • Trump plans to meet with Putin to discuss peace.

This is reported by Ukrinform, RBC Ukraine.

The head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak held negotiations with U.S. Secretary of State and National Security Advisor Marco Rubio. They discussed the possibilities of achieving a just peace in Ukraine and agreed on positions for important diplomatic steps planned for this week.

Yermak reported on active communication with partners, including during a meeting with U.S. Vice President J. D. Vance. He emphasized that Ukraine's priority is a just and lasting peace, which requires a ceasefire as a condition for substantive negotiations, as well as increasing pressure on Russia for real steps in this direction.

Yermak also encouraged U.S. President Donald Trump, Rubio, and the special representative of the U.S. for Ukraine, Kurt Volker, for their desire to end the war with Russia against Ukraine and achieve a just peace.

On September 15, Trump plans to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Almaty, where he intends to demand from Putin the end of the war.
