Republican Doug Lamalfa held two meetings with voters in California, where he faced sharp criticism for his support of the legislation proposed by President Donald Trump, known as "the great, beautiful law." During the meetings in Chico and Red Bluff, Lamalfa encountered angry voters who expressed their dissatisfaction with his politics and statements.

At the meetings, voters asked about the impact of the legislation on farmers, Trump's tariffs, and questions regarding documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. Lamalfa tried to defend his position, but did not avoid criticism, which echoed from the audience.

Voters inquired about plans regarding foreign financing for medical facilities in his district, as well as about reactions to tariffs that, in their opinion, harm local agricultural producers. Lamalfa responded to the inquiries, but many present considered his responses unsatisfactory.

In addition, he commented on the redistricting in Texas, warning that it could lead to political consequences across the country. Lamalfa also did not support the proposal to redistrict the districts in California, noting that it could undermine trust in the political process.
