Trump and Putin Meeting Planned in Anchorage

On August 15, 2025, in the city of Anchorage, Alaska, there will be a meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. This event has generated significant interest and discussion in international circles.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced that it will close the airspace over Anchorage on the day of the meeting. Restrictions will be in effect within a 30-mile radius (48.3 km) up to an altitude of 5.5 km. They will be lifted on August 16.
During a press conference, Trump stated that he hopes for a peaceful agreement between Russia and Ukraine, but also expressed doubts regarding the participation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in the negotiations. He emphasized that any final decision regarding the agreement does not depend solely on him.
Zelensky, in turn, stressed that territorial issues are enshrined in the Constitution of Ukraine, and the country does not plan to cede its lands. He also pointed out that Russia does not provide any guarantees regarding territorial changes.
Prior to the meeting, mass protests are planned in Anchorage on August 14, organized by the political group Stand Up Alaska. Protest participants will call to support the sovereignty of Ukraine and express their dissatisfaction with both leaders' actions.
