Zelensky is open to peace talks with Russia

The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky expressed readiness for negotiations with Russia regarding the freezing of the front line and the granting of de-facto control over already occupied territories. This decision is being discussed ahead of the upcoming meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, scheduled for September 15 in Alaska.
Along with the announcements, Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine rejects any proposals that foresee a withdrawal from control over additional territories. He also stressed the necessity of obtaining security guarantees in the form of arms supplies and the possibility of joining NATO.
Currently, Russia controls nearly five parts of Ukrainian territory. According to the Ukrainian president, he is ready to discuss the freezing of the front line, but with the condition that Ukraine will not lose any of its territory that is still under its control.
Trump noted that during the meeting with Putin, he plans to discuss the possibility of exchanging territories to achieve a quick cessation of fire in the conflict.
