Paris Saint-Germain has completed the signing of defender Illia Zabarnyi from Bournemouth. The 22-year-old footballer signed a contract for five years, which will last until 2030.
The transfer is valued at 63 million euros (54.3 million pounds) with possible add-ons of 3 million euros. Bournemouth did not want to release Zabarnyi, but he expressed a desire to move to the French club.
Zabarnyi joined Bournemouth in January 2023 for 20 million pounds and played 86 matches for the team. He also has 48 matches for the Ukraine national team and won three trophies with Dynamo Kyiv, including the Ukrainian championship.
This transfer became the third significant loss for Bournemouth this summer, following the sale of Dine Huyssen to Real Madrid and Milos Kerkez to Liverpool. Among the new signings for Bournemouth are goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic from Chelsea and left-back Adrian Truffier from Rennes.
Paris Saint-Germain recently won the league title, defeating Inter in the final with a score of 5-0, and also became the champion of Ligue 1, Coupe de France, and the Champions Trophy. Bournemouth will start their season in the Premier League against Liverpool on August 15.
