- Lewandowski wanted to move to Manchester United in 2012.
- Borussia Dortmund blocked the transfer, and he signed a contract with Bayern Munich in 2014.
- The forward has established his career in Europe, regardless of the absence in the Premier League.
The forward Barcelona Robert Lewandowski shared his thoughts about the failed transfer to Manchester United in 2012. Lewandowski expressed his desire to sign a contract with the club to work under the management of Sir Alex Ferguson.
However, his then-club Borussia Dortmund blocked this transfer, as they did not want to release their key player. "I decided and said so, but they could not sell me, so they knew that as long as I remained, the club could earn more money," Lewandowski noted.
After that, he signed a contract with Bayern Munich in 2014, becoming one of the best scorers in the club's history. According to him, regardless of the fact that he did not play in the Premier League, he has established his career, despite achieving successes in Germany and now in Spain.
Lewandowski continues his career, preparing for his 22nd season. He noted that, regardless of his age, he still has the desire to compete with younger players, such as Lamine Yamal, who has already shown himself to be one of the most promising talents of the club. Lewandowski believes that he can learn from younger players and help them in their development.
In addition, he recalled his path to success, pointing to the influence of Jürgen Klopp in his career. Lewandowski stressed that he considers himself happy in his career, regardless of the possible regret about the lack of playing experience in the Premier League.
