UFC Signs Agreement with Paramount, Changing the Broadcasting Model

  • UFC transitions to a new subscription model with Paramount
  • The PPV model becomes outdated in the world of streaming
  • Boxers discuss the future of PPV after the UFC agreement

On September 11, 2025, UFC announced the signing of an agreement with Paramount, which grants the company the rights to stream and broadcast all major UFC events in the USA for $7.7 billion over seven years. This means that starting in 2026, UFC will shift from the Pay-Per-View (PPV) model to a Paramount+ subscription, allowing viewers to gain access to all events without additional costs.

This agreement marks an important step for UFC, which has utilized the PPV model since 1993. Now, all events, including 13 numbered events and 30 Fight Nights, will be available to Paramount subscribers. Part of the events will also be broadcast on CBS.

Changes in UFC's broadcasting model have sparked discussions in boxing, where PPV has traditionally been the main model. Many boxers, including Tyson Fury, believe that the PPV model is already outdated. Promoters like Turiq Alialshih have announced the shift from PPV to more accessible streaming models.

With these changes, viewers will be able to economize, as the subscription to Paramount will become $7.99 per month, whereas previously access to PPV required significantly higher payments. In the United Kingdom, the situation remains unchanged, as the agreement only pertains to broadcasting rights in the USA.
