Former Premier League referee David Kut received an eight-week ban from the Football Association for comments made about Jurgen Kloppa.
Kut, who was dismissed from the Premier League in June 2024, violated rule E3.2, as he mentioned Kloppa's nationality in his video remarks. This video, filmed probably in July 2020, surfaced online in November 2024.
He acknowledged his violation for calling out the FA in "improper conduct" and using "derogatory terms". In the video, Kut expresses negative thoughts about Kloppa, referring to him as "a fraud" and mentioning that this label came after one of the matches.
In addition to the ban, Kut also indicated plans to pursue an educational program. Earlier, he had already received a temporary ban for his conduct, which led to his dismissal, as his position was deemed "unsustainable". During the investigation, Kut also suggested a review through possible discussions with the referee regarding the punishment of players with yellow cards.
The Football Association is conducting additional investigations into other incidents related to Kut, including allegations of involvement in the illegal use of narcotics during Euro 2024.
