In Geneva, negotiations regarding the plastic agreement continue
- The negotiations in Geneva concern a global agreement on plastic.

- Activists are calling for restrictions on plastic production.
In Geneva, negotiations are taking place regarding a global agreement to combat plastic pollution. Participants, among whom are ecological activists and representatives of indigenous peoples, are urging governments to take decisive actions to create an effective agreement.
These negotiations are based on the identified microplastics in the waters of the city. Research conducted by the organization Greenpeace has shown that the waters in Geneva contain plastic fibers and particles that may be hazardous to health.
Actors in the negotiations emphasize the need for restrictions on plastic production. The Panamanian delegation, in particular, supports the inclusion of plastic production limits in the agreement. Many countries, however, oppose this, arguing that it could undermine the interests of the oil industry.
The conclusion of the negotiations is scheduled for Thursday. However, as noted by the activists, without political will and decisive actions, the agreement may not achieve the desired results.
