Sky Sports Introduces New Format for Match Broadcasts

  • Sky Sports will show 215 matches of the Premier League in the new season.
  • The "Multiview" format will allow viewers to watch up to four matches simultaneously.
  • A new analytical show called "Super Sunday: Extra Time" will be introduced.
  • The new theme song of the season is "G.O.A.T" by Kasabian.

Sky Sports has announced a new broadcasting format called "Multiview" for the 2025/26 Premier League season. This format will allow viewers to watch up to four matches simultaneously on Sundays.

In the new season, Sky Sports will show no less than 215 matches of the Premier League, which is an increase compared to 128 matches in the previous season. This could be made possible by a new agreement with the league, which anticipates broadcasting all matches that were previously scheduled for 14:00 on Sundays.

The "Multiview" format will include three matches in a column on the right side and one match in a larger box on the left, where the editorial team will choose which match to display in a larger format depending on the game situation. This new format will be available on all Sky TV platforms, as well as through the Sky Sports add-on.

Within the "Multiview" framework, commentary and analysis will be provided during halftime, as well as separate broadcasts for each match. Additionally, Sky plans to update the functionality so that users can independently choose which matches to watch.

This season will also see the introduction of a new analytical show "Super Sunday: Extra Time," which will be hosted by Jamie Carragher, starting at 19:30 on Sundays after the main broadcast ends.

Changes will also include a new theme song: the new theme song of the season will be a remixed version of the track "G.O.A.T" by Kasabian. All matches will be accessible with momentary vertical views in addition to Sky Sports.

The first match of the new season will take place on September 15, when Liverpool will face Bournemouth at 20:00.
