Integration of the Ukrainian turret "Burya" into the Estonian platform THeMIS
- The turret "Burya" has been integrated into the THeMIS platform for combat applications.
- Successful tests have been conducted with accurate targeting of objectives.
- Additional testing has been scheduled to verify the stability of the system.
This is reported by Mezha, Ukrayinska Pravda.
The Ukrainian company Frontline, together with the Estonian manufacturer of robotic systems Milrem Robotics, successfully integrated the "Burya" turret for the 40-mm grenade launcher Mk-19 into the unmanned ground platform THeMIS. This was reported by Frontline's press service.
The success of the integration was confirmed during tests with live fire conducted in Ukraine as part of an updated training program for automated turret instructors. The integrated system demonstrated accurate targeting of objectives at distances over 1100 meters.
"During the testing, the THeMIS platform demonstrated outstanding maneuverability, stability, and responsiveness to commands during operation... Successful deployments also confirmed the versatility of the THeMIS platform when working with different types of armaments," - it is stated in the report.
Frontline reported that in the coming weeks, a series of additional tests is planned to check the combat readiness of the system and its stability in various operational scenarios. The next stage will involve integrating the system in active scenarios of planned missions, as well as adapting solutions for specific tasks on the battlefield.
The company noted that the THeMIS platform has become the first unmanned ground system of its class to be utilized by the Armed Forces of Ukraine in combat missions. The "Burya" turret will be supplied to military units starting from January 2025 and will be produced in large quantities.
It is worth noting that in July, the Ukrainian company Frontline signed a strategic agreement with the German-Ukrainian manufacturer of drones Quantum Systems, marking a new phase of collaboration between the companies.
