Liverpool has intensified efforts to sign defender Crystal Palace Guehi and the England U21 international. The clubs have begun initial talks about a potential transfer this summer. Guehi, whose contract expires in a year, is interested in securing a guaranteed playing time before the World Cup.
Crystal Palace management confirmed that the club may be forced to sell Guehi to avoid losing the player for free next year. Earlier, the team rejected a proposal from Newcastle for a sum of up to £65 million sterling.
Liverpool has already spent nearly £270 million this summer, but intends to sign Guehi, although the club wants to pay less than £40 million, which is required by Crystal Palace.
In addition to Guehi, Liverpool is also considering the possibility of signing Italian defender Giovanni Leone from Parma, who is a young potential talent for the future.
