Ministers called for urgent action to alleviate the crisis in Gaza
- The humanitarian situation in Gaza is critical, requiring urgent measures.
- Ministers of the G7 countries are calling on Israel to provide humanitarian assistance.
- Israel continues its bombardment, which results in civilian casualties.
The humanitarian situation in Gaza has reached "unthinkable levels," stated 24 ministers from the G7 countries, including representatives from the United Kingdom, Canada, and Australia. They called for urgent measures to stop the starvation, which, according to them, is unfolding on the borders of the international community.
In a joint statement, the ministers emphasized that it is essential to grant access to humanitarian aid, including medical supplies and water. They demanded that Israel allow unimpeded passage for humanitarian convoys.
Simultaneously, Israeli forces continue their bombardment of Gaza. According to reports, the areas of Zaitun and Sabra are experiencing intensified attacks, which lead to mass destruction. Local residents cannot reach the deceased and injured due to the ongoing blockades.
Moreover, the World Health Organization has called on Israel to allow the entry of medical supplies into the region, as the situation with healthcare is described as "catastrophic." A representative of the WHO noted that humanitarian supplies are not arriving in sufficient quantities.
In addition to this, the ministers called for the cessation of the use of lethal force against humanitarian points. According to them, more than 1,300 Palestinians have died as a result of attacks carried out by Israeli forces.
In light of these events, an international group of former leaders "Elder Statesmen" has first characterized the war in Gaza as "genocide." They stated that the situation in the region requires urgent measures to protect the civilian population.
