The President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and the President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone conversation in which they discussed a possible meeting at the level of leaders of Ukraine and Russia. According to the information from the press service of the Turkish leader, the conversation was initiated by the Ukrainian side.

The leaders also touched on bilateral relations between Ukraine and Turkey, as well as regional and global issues. Erdogan emphasized the importance of continuing negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian delegations, which took place in Istanbul, and expressed hope for achieving significant results in establishing a regime of cessation of fire and a lasting peace.

Erdogan confirmed Turkey's readiness to host the summit and believes that the establishment of working groups in military, humanitarian, and political spheres can contribute to this summit.

Zelensky also noted that the conversation was friendly and substantive. The Turkish leader emphasized that any negotiations without Ukraine's participation will not lead to a lasting peace.

Both presidents reaffirmed their commitment to supporting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and also discussed the possibility of holding a meeting at the level of leaders of Ukraine, Turkey, the USA, and Russia.
