- Grealish has signed a contract with Everton for one season.
- This is his move from Manchester City, where he did not have enough playing time.
- The new number 18 for Grealish is associated with his favorite players.
Everton has completed the signing of Jack Grealish from Manchester City on loan terms for one season. Grealish, who will turn 30 next month, expressed satisfaction with the move to the club, stating that this is a "massive decision for him."
He becomes the sixth new signing for Everton this summer following the arrivals of Kieran De Bruyne-Hall, Charlie Alcaraz, Tyronne Barry, Marka Travers, and Adam Aznu. Grealish noted that his conversation with Everton manager David Moyes was a decisive factor in his choice.
"I want to thank the fans for all the messages I received. I hope I can repay you," said Grealish. His new number 18 has special significance, as his idols, Wayne Rooney and Paul Gascoigne, also wore this number at the club.
Grealish joined Manchester City from Aston Villa for a record fee for the Premier League of £100 million in September 2021, but last season he struggled to establish himself in the starting lineup, playing only seven matches in the league. The move to Everton gives him the opportunity to revive his career and return to the England squad, especially before the World Cup.
Grealish could make his debut for Everton in the Premier League match against Leeds on September 18.
