The body of 27-year-old American tourist Kula Henderson, who went missing during a hike in the Pyrenees, was found on August 12, 2025. According to information from the Spanish police, his body was discovered in the national park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido, on the northern slope of Mount Perdido, which is the third highest peak in the Pyrenees.
Henderson went missing on July 9, when he informed friends that he was setting out on a hike. His last message was sent before he entered the phone in flight mode. After he did not return home to the Netherlands on July 12, his friends reported him missing.
Search teams, including rescuers and dogs, began the search on July 14. The body was found in a difficult-to-reach area, where rescuers used a crane to lift it. Police reported that Henderson likely died as a result of a fall of 200 meters.
At the time of his disappearance, the route he might have taken was still covered in snow, which complicated the search. Rescue teams used drones and special equipment for the searches.
