Apple recently released another public beta version of iOS 26 on September 7, 2025. This update includes new features, including a new call filtering function that helps users reduce the number of spam calls and improve interaction with the Siri voice assistant.

The call filtering function is not part of Apple Intelligence, but is available for all iPhones that support iOS 26 when the update is officially released in the fall. To activate this feature, users simply need to go to their phone settings. With the call filtering feature, users can choose one of three options: "Silence", "Request reason for the call" or "Quiet". The option "Request reason for the call" allows users to receive a text message from an unknown caller, which can be useful for important calls.

In addition to call filtering, iOS 26 also enhances Siri, providing the ability to control apps by voice. According to Bloomberg, the new Siri capabilities may be available in late 2026. This gives users the ability to manage their apps using voice commands, which significantly simplifies the use of the iPhone.
