A drone carrier with a range of 200 km is being developed for Ukraine

• The Sparta drone has a flight radius of 200 km and a duration of up to 8 hours.

The German company Quantum Systems is working on a new drone carrier named Sparta for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Details: The drone has the following characteristics:

• total weight at takeoff up to 23 kg, of which 8 kg is occupied by two FPV drones;
• flight radius of 200 km;
• flight duration of 6-8 hours.

According to Quantum Systems, Sparta can not only transport drones, but also various payloads, such as cameras, which allow it to be used for reconnaissance and other purposes.

The drone has a construction with a fixed wing and V-shaped tail, operates on electric propulsion with a propeller and is launched from the ground using a compact catapult.

Florian Seibel, co-founder and general director of Quantum Systems, shared a video launch of Sparta on LinkedIn, noting that the idea for the drone originated in spring, and the system was ready by summer.

Earlier in the post about the drone, he added the hashtag #madeinUkraine, which sparked discussions about the possible production of products in Ukraine. "Ukrainian Truth" contacted Seibel for comments on this issue.

At the same time, the German information portal Hartpunkt reported that mass production of the new drone is planned to start by the end of 2025, although it does not specify how many units will be produced at the initial stage.

On September 10, it was reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine began using the updated version of the Vector reconnaissance drones from Quantum Systems, now equipped with acoustic detectors for tracking enemy artillery.
