On August 12, 2025, at the WTA 1000 tournament in Cincinnati, Ukrainian tennis player Dayana Yastremska was forced to withdraw from the match of the third round against American Coco Gauff, who ranks second in the world ranking.

Reasons for Yastremska's withdrawal

Yastremska, who at the moment of withdrawal ranked 31st in the rankings, was unable to take to the court due to illness. She could not confirm her participation in the match, which was scheduled for 10:00 PM Kyiv time.

Path to the third round

In the previous matches in Cincinnati, Yastremska successfully advanced through the second round, defeating Bulgarian Viktoria Tomova. Gauff, in her turn, won her match in the second round against Chinese player Wan Shinyu.
