Zelensky Discusses the Return of Children from Qatar

The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, held talks with the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. He expressed gratitude for the assistance in the return of Ukrainian children who were abducted in Russia.

Zelensky noted that thanks to the efforts of Qatar, it was possible to return hundreds of children. He mentioned this in his evening video address. The president emphasized that cooperation with Qatar and the Vatican is crucial for the return of illegally deported children.

"We cannot negotiate with Russia about the return of children. But Qatar and the Vatican have become the most successful in the media. We are sending lists of children, and they assist in the return," Zelensky stated during a conversation with journalists.

In addition, diplomatic issues and possible ways to achieve peace were discussed. The president stressed the need to establish peace as a first step. He expressed gratitude to the Emir of Qatar for his readiness to assist in achieving peace.

Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine is ready for any format of meetings that could lead to a fair and lasting peace.
